Is Capital One Quicksilver a Visa or Mastercard?

As of today, January 14, 2024, the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card is a Mastercard. Capital One transitioned all Quicksilver cards from Visa to Mastercard in early 2020.

However, there is one exception: if you applied for and were approved for a Quicksilver card before the switch, your card might still be a Visa. You can easily confirm the network of your specific card by checking the front of your card or reviewing your online account details.

Rewards of the Quicksilver card from Capital One:

  • Unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases, every day: This makes it a simple and straightforward card to earn rewards on all your spending, without having to worry about rotating categories or earning caps.
  • Welcome bonus: Earn a one-time $200 cash bonus if you spend $500 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.
  • 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel: This can be a good way to boost your rewards on travel expenses.

Other benefits:

  • No annual fee: This makes the Quicksilver a great option for people who want a rewards card without having to pay an annual fee.
  • No foreign transaction fees: This makes the Quicksilver a good option for travelers who want to avoid paying extra fees on international purchases.
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® application fee credit: Get up to $100 credit towards the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck®.
  • Comprehensive security features: Enjoy fraud protection, 24/7 customer service, and other security features to help keep your account safe.

So, while most new Quicksilver cards are Mastercards, there’s a slight chance yours might still be a Visa if you applied and were approved earlier. It’s always best to check your specific card for confirmation.

For Capital One products listed on this page, some of the above benefits are provided by Visa® or Mastercard® and may vary by product. See the respective Guide to Benefits for details, as terms and exclusions apply.
