How much does the Chase Sapphire Preferred trip delay reimbursement cover?
They cover up to $500 for each purchased ticket, and the coverage is limited to one covered hazard per trip. This is obviously a vague response, so it is recommended that you contact chase for clarification.
What does the trip delay reimbursement not cover?
If the delay was known or made public before you left on the flight it will not be covered, and any prepaid expenses will not be covered. Make sure you have receipts that justify any and all purchases made after the flight was deemed cancelled or delayed.
How much time do we have to make a claim for flight delay reimbursement?
The cardholder must notify the benefit administrator no longer than 60 days following the date your flight was delayed . You will then receive a claim form which you will fill out and report your losses. The time frame on filling out the claim form and gathering all supporting documentation is 100 days from the date your flight was delayed.
Is trip delay reimbursement only for flights?
No, actually the expenses you incur for delays also include bus, cruises and train travel. If any of these delays are more than 12 hours or causes you to have to stay overnight somewhere they are also included.
